Online Dating

Oh dear God. I have tried the online dating thing for a little while now, and yet I'm still amazed at some of the responses I receive. This message is from a 72 year old man. That's right, I didn't mistype that age.

It's a shame you are so young. We would have made a great couple. Once upon a time, I had a bunch of simultanious, arms length, intimate relationships. That was after I left a long marriage that I never should have gotten into.
I sucked at relationships and actually took seminars and read books to learn how to be in healthy relationships. By the time I was smart enought to be in them, I was enjoying the arms length intimate relationships so much that I said to hell with "healthy relationships, lets keep doing what I have been happy doing."
I guess what I am trying to say is that without motivation to make major changes in our feelings, some of us really aren't meant to be in really close relationships for very long periods of time. Probably something to do with our genes.
If you'd like to have coffee, and talk about this, I'll be glad to buy. Since you are not here looking for dates, we'll just call it a meeting. LOL I am so old I am fairly harmless.
What are your fields of study?

First off, EEEW! Secondly, he says he's "fairly harmless." So does that mean he'll only rape me, not rape AND kidnap me? I wish the site I was on could specify the age group I'm interested in. At first I was getting emails from the 40-70 year old crowd. Now it's the 18-20 crowd. I'm sorry, but if I can't go out and have a drink with you, it's not happening. Maybe I should just be a total bitch and write in my profile that if you're not between the ages of 25-35, then you're out.

Also, what is up with guys wanting to date me? On my profile it specifically states that I'm not interested in a relationship. How hard is that to understand? Also, it's not a site specifically for online dating. You can do tests there, make new friends, or answer a bunch of pointless questions.
